Fête Champêtre.

The term is a French expression, very literally translating as "party in the fields", meaning a "pastoral festival" or "country feast" and in theory was a simple form of entertainment, perhaps little more than a picnic or informal open air dancing. In practice, especially in the 18th century. A fête champêtre was often a very elegant form of entertainment involving on occasions whole orchestras hidden in trees. Let us create your very own Fête Champêtre in the grounds of Babbington Park.

Annie has spent many years cooking beautiful French country style food at her nearby restaurant du Fermier in Trentham. At Babbington Park she wishes to offer a similar style of food with an accent on eating in the outdoors within the pastoral setting of Babbington Park. While the restoration of the Shearing Shed continues, food offerings are limited to canapés and picnics, but in time we will have completed the undercover area and will be able to offer more options.
